Mephedrone, also known as 4-methylmethcathinone, is a synthetic stimulant of the amphetamine and cathinone classes. Significant abuse of this new recreational drug has been reported within the last year in the UK; Sweden; and Toronto, Canada with documented seizures in Oregon, Illinois, and Alabama.
