Zidovudine, also known as azidothymidine (AZT), is a nucleoside analog reverse-transcriptase inhibitor (NRTI) antiretroviral used for the treatment of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection. Therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) of zidovudine may be requested to evaluate its toxicity, assess virological failure, guide dosing regimens, or investigate drug-drug interactions. This Certified Spiking Solution® is suitable for use as starting material in the preparation of calibrators, controls, or linearity standards for a variety of LC-MS/MS or GC/MS zidovudine testing applications including TDM and clinical and diagnostic testing.
