Cerilliant Introduces Snap-N-Spike® Certified Reference Solutions of Catecholamines
ROUND ROCK, TEXAS – July 25, 2011 – Cerilliant introduces twelve new Snap-N-Spike® certified reference solutions of catecholamines, the body’s fight or flight hormones, including innovative multi-component mixes for use in HPLC and LC-MS/MS testing methods.
Starting with Cerilliant’s Certified Spiking Solutions® eliminates variability that may arise from weighing of compounds, like catecholamines that are sensitive to air and light, and allows the laboratory to spike a known concentration of analyte into their matrix of choice prior to use. Cerilliant’s solutions begin with extensive characterization of the neat materials to determine an accurate weighing adjustment, are gravimetrically prepared using validated processes, and flame sealed under argon into ampoules for long-term shelf-life. Rigorous testing, including accelerated and real time studies, ensures solution accuracy and shelf life. Cerilliant Snap-N-Spike® solutions are supported by comprehensive Certificates of Analysis (COA) which provide all analytical data as well as uncertainty and traceability information for a laboratory’s regulatory requirements.

Cerilliant’s offering includes three new multi-component mixes to further enhance laboratory efficiencies by reducing the time required to prepare stock solutions. Mixes include epinephrine/norepinephrine; metanephrine/ normetanephrine and major metabolites 5-HIAA, VMA, and HVA along with stable labeled internal standards of epinephrine, norepinephrine, metanephrine, normetanephrine, dopamine, 5-Hydroxyindoleacetic acid (5-HIAA), vanilmandelic acid (VMA), and homovanillic acid (HVA). They are organized according to catecholamine class or metabolism for flexibility and ease of use as starting materials in preparation of linearity standards, calibrators, or controls for LDTs.
Certified concentration values for the components in each mix provide increased efficiency from less time weighing and preparing stock solutions to remaking pools or rerunning samples due to possible differences in raw material purity factors. These certified solutions are suitable for other critical quantitative applications such as internal proficiency testing or for OEM use in preparation of reagents, assay development, and instrument IQ/OQ.
