Cerilliant Releases Labeled Benzyl and Phenyl Piperazine Reference Standards
In May, 2009, Cerilliant introduced the latest additions to its benzyl and phenyl
piperazine reference standards product line, Benzyl piperazine-D7 diHCl (B-907) and 3-Trifluoromethylphenylpiperazine (TFMPP)-D4
HCl (T-920).
In recent years, the DEA has reported significant abuse in the US of piperazine
derivatives including Benzyl piperazine (BZP) and 3-Trifluoromethylphenylpiperazine
(TFMPP). BZP and TFMPP are being sold as an alternative to “Ecstasy.” Numerous state
and local law enforcement agencies have seized piperazine drug products in several
regions of the US from California, Texas, and Florida to New York, Minnesota, and
Indiana. According to the US DEA, more than fifty drug seizures have resulted in
the confiscation of over 39,000 tablets and 1,000 pounds of powder. Public health
risks and the high abuse potential of these products have led to their legal control
in several countries, such as the US, European Union, and Australia.
Cerilliant offers certified native and labeled solution standards of several benzyl
and phenyl piperazines. These certified reference standards are suitable for forensic
analysis, urine drug testing, isotope dilution methods, and calibrator preparation
among many other uses. BZP is classified as a controlled substance. For your convenience
we supply benzyl and phenyl piperazine reference standards in a convenient, quantitative,
DEA-exempt solution. Click on the link below to view these featured standards:
